TESTIMONIALS

“I learned how to better assess appropriate yoga techniques according to a client's presentation and need.”
– Echo LA “Yoga for Trauma Recovery” participant (2020)

“Honestly, I thought it might be too long a class at first but could have gone on longer. Such great information!  The ACE’s concept was new to me, and eye opening! Thank you so much.”

– Echo LA “Yoga for Trauma Recovery” participant (2020)

“Thank you so much for this training! As much as I really wish we could have all been together doing this as planned, I think the virtual format and time went very well. I definitely learned a lot that I am looking forward to using! I hope we can find ways in the future to continue to connect! I have had such great feedback from everyone that attended and they are all wanting more.”
– LaMarque Elementary Administrator and participant (2020)

SUCCESS STORIES

-       May 2020, 6 Hour Training Course. “Trauma Informed Yoga for Child Care.”
LaMarque Elementary staff and faculty via Zoom, North Port, FL.
Conducted online for one hour twice weekly for three weeks

Despite having planned an in-person six hour training course on a Saturday afternoon in Florida, the impossibility of travel due to COVID restrictions resulted in a resourceful change of plans. To mitigate Zoom fatigue and optimize quality discussion, Amy facilitated an agreement with Sarasota County Schools to host one hour training modules on Tuesday and Thursday mornings for three consecutive weeks. This allowed participants time to consider and apply information learned, as well as cultivating a greater sense of community and engagement.

-       June 2020 -  Present (held quarterly), 8 hour Training Course. “Yoga for Trauma Recovery.” Echo Los Angeles in-person and online via Zoom, Los Angeles, CA.

Each quarter, Amy hosts a virtual or in-person eight hour training course for Los Angeles based social workers, caregivers and non-profit staff to share applications of Trauma Informed Mindfulness to increase resilience. Trainings include lecture and practice, as well as small break out groups and case studies to empower participants to actively apply what they’ve learned.
Check here for the next Yoga for Trauma Recovery training and/or related courses at Echo LA.

-       November 2019, 2 Hour Training Course. “Trauma Informed Mindfulness.”
Caboose Lake Campground, Remington, Indiana.

Amy of IYC was invited to share Trauma Informed Mindfulness and Therapeutic Yoga Applications with the Remington, Indiana community where there is little presence of Yoga practice. Participants included multi-generation family members from age 9 to 60+, a Headstart staff member and interested community members. Amy shared about the nervous system, symptoms of stress or de-regulation, and led a practice together (in chairs and on yoga mats) to apply ways to support well-being for kids and adults.
