Looking Back

“Wow!” is the first word that comes to mind when I look at my 200-hour yoga teaching certificate! “Wow” is almost too simple a word to describe something that is such an amazing accomplishment. This training was life-changing, in multiple ways. I came out of a world/lifestyle where perfection was something you chased every single minute of the day to an environment where all are welcome, honored, loved, and most importantly, accepted as they are. This environment is Yoga and I am so incredibly grateful to be a part of the yoga community. My 200-hour teacher training with “In Yoga Collective” is something that will always be with me. What I am taking away from my training is something I would never have gotten anywhere else, or from doing anything else! This is a huge stepping stone on my way to serving others and growing/evolving on my journey of self-discovery. Big plans are already in the works and being manifested. I am so excited and incredibly grateful for all who have supported me in this journey and those who will continue to support and guide me! While there is a long list of people to thank, a few of the most important ones are my immediate family (mom, dad, and brother) and Amy, the owner of “In Yoga Collective,” who also happens to be my cousin! Words do not justly express what these people mean to me, especially on this journey! They have supported me from the beginning and, Amy specifically, has shared with me, and the other trainees, the knowledge of Yoga that she learned. This is rare in the world we live in: passing down knowledge so others can learn and grow. Sometimes our world appears to be a place where everyone is living and learning for themselves and where they will never share and pass down their knowledge due to selflessness! But, this is not the case in the Yoga world. Everyone in the Yoga world wants the best for everybody and wants them to continue to learn so they can not only benefit but also share their knowledge with others! Honestly, what is better than that?

With the new knowledge I have learned, I can serve others by sharing it with them and use my journey as just one small example of why Yoga is needed in everybody’s life. Due to Yoga’s effect on the body systems, it can be used to help us regulate ourselves during times of stress, anxiety, depression, and other life challenges. Asana (movement), pranayama ( breathing techniques), meditation, self-care, and many more yoga tools, can be used to provide some ease. Like everything in life, Yoga takes practice, but you have to start somewhere! Learning Yoga was my second chance at learning self-care and I am so proud of myself for taking the leap. I can’t wait for others to take the same leap! I am so excited to continue my yoga journey with “In Yoga Collective”! This group is so unique and beautiful! Everybody offers something unique but so beneficial to our lives, our bodies, and our minds. Everybody has their own story. “In Yoga Collective” is a safe space to be you and learn tools that will serve you for a lifetime!

I recommend yoga teacher training to ALL because, not only are you continuing your education and learning something new, but you are learning tools to help with all of life’s stressors. This is major, especially in this day and age! I am so excited to continue my education in yoga with In Yoga Collective!
