The pause is the epiphany

June 29, 2021

A NOTE FROM AMY

There have been times over the past two years when I’ve wondered if I can continue working in the Yoga industry.

As Western propagations of Yoga manifest and perpetuate societal norms that are not only harmful, but are in direct contrast to the true purpose of the tradition, I needed to slow myself down.

I took a long time to heal, to consider and allow.

The changes over the past year, personally and collectively, leave me with more questions than answers. I have even more awareness of my “not knowingness” (avidya).

The pause is the epiphany.

You can’t grow through the process of change without patience.

Thank for you being patient with me as I take pause, to allow space for the next chapter of my creativity to sprout, evolve and reveal itself.

Preparing to emerge again, in my work and in the world, I intend to continue to move slowly. In sharp contrast to pre-pandemic productivity that ruled my (and others’) life, identity and being.

Rather, these offerings aim to reflect an equal balance of head and heart. Logic and Love.

An applied understanding of nervous system regulation and mindfulness meditation has allowed me to survive - even thrive - during difficult times.

I am ready to share this with you.

Stay tuned for upcoming virtual offerings, such as:

  • Yoga and Nervous System Series

  • Mindfulness Meditation Gathering

  • 200/300 Teacher Training Info Sessions
    (training starts January 2022, TBA)

  • Private Coaching and Professional Development Trainings customized to your needs continue to be offered, by request

To honor your time and inbox, you can expect two monthly e-mails:

>Once monthly with a story applying Yoga and science “off the mat” for self-regulation and resilience

>And then again at the end of the month with updates on IYC upcoming events and opportunities to get involved.

In Yoga Collective still offers private coaching for individuals and professional development trainings for schools and non-profits. Send us a note for more information to customize your IYC experience.

You are on a journey, right now. You are still unfolding. Be patient with yourself. Don’t be afraid of stillness. The pause is the epiphany.

In healing and self-knowledge,

Amy
